ABOUT THE AUTHOR

M.G. Russell

I write to help readers feel the humanity surrounding the biblical record—and then return to Scripture with sharper eyes.

WHY I WRITE

I do not want the people of Scripture to feel carved in stone.

I want readers to feel close enough to hear sandals scrape the road, smell smoke in the air, taste dust, and understand the weight of the next faithful choice.

That closeness matters because these were human lives lived before God—marked by fear, failure, courage, grief, obedience, and grace. The goal is never to replace the biblical text. It is to help readers notice what they may have hurried past and return to the Word with fresh attention.

Scripture leads

The biblical record sets the boundary. No dramatic moment is worth contradicting what God has revealed.

Story serves

Sensory and emotional detail may fill a silence, but it must remain plausible, restrained, and honest about what Scripture does not say.

Readers return

The best outcome is not admiration for the writer. It is a reader opening Scripture again with deeper attention and trust.

A PERSONAL NOTE

“I want every work to point beyond itself—to the truth of Scripture, the faithfulness of God, and the hope found in Jesus Christ.”
